Those attending, and others who were unable to be there, sent us
the titles of two hymns which were of great significance in
their lives. Some of these were incorporated into the service at
10:30 that day, others were sung with fervor after the luncheon,
and all were listed on their keepsake program of the event.
All of the members of our congregation included in this category
were remembered during the service and recognized for their
years of service and faith.
Afterwards, the honorees were treated to a luncheon of Summer
Savory Fruit Soup, Salade de Poulet with Toasted Rye Wedges, and
Lemon Sorbet. An assortment of cookies was available for their
dessert. An old-fashioned “hymn sing” followed. The meal was
served by youth from our congregation.
