Lycoming
College Choirs Bless St. Mark's Services with Beautiful Music
Twice this fall, concert choirs consisting of Lycoming College
students participated in St. Mark's worship services. On
Sunday, November 11, 2007, the Lycoming College Chamber Choir
presented Five Sacred Pieces by Gabriel Faure at the 10:30 AM
service.
The following week, the Lycoming College Choir presented several
pieces during the 10:30 AM service. The nave was filled with
music as the Choir presented Lamento by Sven Hellwinkel,
Earth Song by Frank Ticheli and A Prayer of the Middle Ages
by Howard Hanson early in the service. The praise continued
during Communion with O Gracious Light by Allyn Landon, P rayer
from Hansel & Gretel by Engelbert Humperdinck, Ava Maria by Franz Biehl
and How Lovely Are Thy Dwellings by Johannes Brahms.
Dr. Fred Thayer, conducted both choirs. Many thanks to Dr.
Thayer for allowing St. Mark's to experience the beauty of the
Choirs' music during worship services. |
