After many years of service, Jane Larson has retired as Stephen Leader. She was honored at a dinner held in Fellowship Hall on May 23, 2010. The dinner was attended by Stephen Ministers and their families.
Jane was the first (and only) lay leader the Stephen Ministry program has known since its inception at St. Mark's in 1997. She was involved in the training of the 20 individuals who have served in the program since the start.
Active Stephen ministers include the following: Jane Angle, Lou DeSeau, Larue Dieter, Pastor Elkin, Kathy Eshelman, Shirley Kinney, Gladys Knauss, Jane Larson, Larry Lehman, Catherine Lundy, Carol McMorris, Davis McMorris, Mary Schultz, Connie Shaible, Henrietta Tyson and Carl Weaver. Kathy Eshelman has agreed to replace Jane as Stephen Leader.
Comments and gifts were exchanged. All agreed that Jane was the perfect choice to lead the new program and her service was roundly cheered by those in attendance.
