Lutheran Day at the Capitol 2007Register today for Lutheran Day at the Capitol 2007 on Wednesday, May 9, in Harrisburg. Join Lutherans from across Pennsylvania as we gather in the Capital to learn about public policy issues, receive advocacy training, and meet other Lutherans in the state. The event begins at the State Capitol with a continental breakfast with legislators and our seven ELCA bishops in Pennsylvania. Other events will be held at the Hilton Harrisburg Hotel. The keynote address, “The Intersection of Faith and Politics,” will be given by Yonce Shelton, Sojourners/Call to Renewal. There will be a “How to Do Advocacy” session featuring government relations professionals. In addition, the afternoon will include the installation of the new LAMPa executive director, presentations, and visits with legislators. Lutheran Day is co-sponsored by Lutheran Advocacy Ministry in PA (LAMPa) and our social ministry organizations—Lutheran Services in America-PA (LSA-PA). The cost is $20 per person, which includes continental breakfast and lunch. The registration deadline is April 27.
