Words for the Third Sunday of Easter

In today’s story Cleopas and his companion walk beside the risen Jesus for hours without realizing who he is. They only recognize him later as they gather around a table and he breaks the bread for the evening meal. Sometimes we can’t really see someone until we’re sitting face-to-face with them, perhaps sharing food.

Lord, show up to me today in my neighbors, face-to-face. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
