70, Single and still Praising God!The Milestone Celebration of 70, Single and still Praising God!

It was a Lovely Time…

On Sunday, August 24, 2008, we honored those among us who are between the ages of 70 and 75, Single and Still Praising God. Hymns that had special significance in their lives were used during the service and a special prayer was said for them before the Sending.

70, Single and still Praising God!Following the second service, Pastor Elkin sat down with those who were able to attend and enjoyed a luncheon of gazpacho, salade de poulet, rye toast wedges, lemon sorbet and a mixed-berry compote. After the good food and good conversation were enjoyed, the staff joined them for a sing-a-long of those significant hymns not included in the morning’s service. Those not able to attend were thought of as their special hymns were sung.

Here is a list of those honored at the Milestone Celebration that day:  Beverly Best, Doris Brown, Sis Chrisman, Jean Gulliver, Alice Helm, Prudy Poff, Ray Reams, Ruth Rees, Elsie Sechler, Jean Soars, Eleanor Sobers, Marlene Vollmer, Eleanor Whiting and Bobbie Yetsko.
