St. Mark's Social Ministry Committee was active in spreading Christmas cheer in the community, in December.
On December 10, 2013 the Elves of St.
Mark’s (Pastor, Bernadette Jones, Jackie Kinney and Becky Pryor)
traveled to the Selinsgrove Center to once again share stories,
songs and gifts with the seventeen ladies of CM-6 and their
caregivers. The bottles of body wash and cups of pudding that were
donated were part of a gift pack each lady received. The caregivers
received dozens of homemade cookies, candy and a holiday floral
arrangement created by Pastor. It was a very special evening for the
ladies and our elves. When we arrived all of the ladies were dressed
in their holiday finest, wearing jewelry, hair ribbons and some
ladies even had holiday manicures. The extra work done by their
caregivers did not go unnoticed by us. A special thank you goes to
Cheryl Williams and Corey Hospes for providing the many homemade
cookies the caregivers received. Thank you to Shirley Hill for
donating the Christmas cards each lady received. And finally thank
you to the congregation for their donations of body wash, pudding
and money to fill in with the gifting. We were blessed to receive
more from the ladies and their caregivers than we gave. These gestures of Christmas spirit given by our congregation were sure to comfort the individuals receiving them in Christ’s name. Many thanks to Becky Miller Pryor for her leadership with these efforts.
