Catechetical Retreat 2009

After being postponed because of snow, the Eleventh Annual Catechetical Retreat, 2009, took place on February 14, right here at St. Mark’s. Stephen Boone, Theoron Hershey, Corey and Max Hospes, Katelyn Lauer, Devin Owen, and Riley Weber attended with a parent or mentor in tow.

Our students chose to attend four of the six different classes offered that day. The first session, they split between Running the Race: Sports and Faith, offered by Pastor Frontz (Messiah) and Parents, Teens and Money, led by Mr. Keith Wood (Thrivent). They separated into two groups again for the afternoon session, with the “big half” going to Bill Hill and Pastor Elkin’s offering of Growing up Faithful. The remaining three attended Help, I am an Alien!, led by Pastor Deibler (St. Luke). When you see them, ask how they enjoyed their day!

All the youth were glad it was held here at “home.” It was fun being able to help others with directions and other assistance. Sara Jones also attended that day as an aide to her mother, who greatly appreciated her support.
